The Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) has officially terminated the participation of the Jaipur Patriots with immediate effect, citing repeated contractual violations and payment defaults by the franchise owners.
In a statement released on Wednesday, 11Sports Pvt. Ltd. confirmed the decision to end its agreement with World Of Krida, the entity that operated the Jaipur-based team. The league stated that despite multiple rounds of discussions and extended deadlines, the franchise failed to comply with its financial and contractual obligations.
“Over the past several months, 11Sports engaged in constructive dialogue and extended multiple opportunities… however, World Of Krida failed to remedy the breaches and honour its commitments,” the statement noted, underlining that termination was necessary to safeguard the league’s governance standards and financial stability.
The Jaipur Patriots had joined UTT in 2024 and quickly made an impact. In the previous season, the team—featuring India’s leading paddler Sreeja Akula—reached the final in Ahmedabad but finished runners-up to U Mumba.
With the Patriots’ exit, the league will now continue with seven teams, including defending champions U Mumba alongside Ahmedabad SG Pipers, Dabang Delhi T.T.C., Dempo Goa Challengers, Kolkata Thunder Blades, PBG Pune Jaguars, and Stanley’s Chennai Lions.
UTT organizers have already initiated the process to onboard a replacement franchise. The new team is expected to join from Season 7, scheduled to take place in Goa in July this year.
The league emphasized that the decision, though significant, was taken to maintain professionalism and ensure long-term sustainability. The removal of a finalist team highlights UTT’s strict stance on compliance and financial discipline as it continues to grow in stature within Indian sport.
As preparations begin for the upcoming season, attention will now turn to identifying a new franchise capable of meeting the league’s standards and maintaining competitive balance.
