Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Krunal Pandya revealed that Mayank Yadav seemed okay when he walked off the field after bowling a solitary over against Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Sunday.
Yadav conceded 13 runs in the only over he bowled before he walked due to a side strain. The gun fast bowler had played a key role in last two wins for LSG as he bowled with thunderous speed. Yadav had bagged three wickets each against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru and was awarded Player of the Match in both matches.
Pandya said Yadav is a bright prospect for them as well as India and he is going to hold the key for LSG.
The all-rounder said while talking to the host broadcasters, “I don’t know what is happening, but I had a couple of seconds with him, he seems OK. He is a bright prospect, bowled gun in the nets, last year missed out. Good head on his shoulders and unbelievable prospect and interesting to see how he will pan out in his career.”
On the other hand, Pandya was brilliant with the ball, returning with impressive figures of 3-11 in his quota of four overs. The left-arm orthodox spinner accounted for Sai Sudharsan and Sharath BR in the ninth over of the innings and alos dismissed Darshan Nalkande.
Pandya added, “When I went in, I played a couple of balls, I had a chat with Pooran as well, the wicket was very good. We felt that we were 10-15 short but at the end of the day, that’s what we got, so we had to defend. I like to know the batters’ strengths and weaknesses, try to bowl according to it. It comes off some days and it doesn’t some days. I back my strengths and stuck to my plans, one of those days I executed what I wanted, tonight it came off. It feels great to defend this score, the way we have defended even last year.”
Lucknow Super Giants will next take on Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Friday.
