The schedule of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League was announced by the BCCI on Friday. The reigning champions Gujarat Titans will face four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the curtain-raiser of the tournament in Ahmedabad on 31st March.
The first double-header of the season will be played on 1st April as Punjab Kings will face Kolkata Knight Riders in a day game. In contrast, the evening game will be played between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals.
The tournament will be played across 12 venues: Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamsala. There will be a total of 70 league stage matches, and the board will announce a schedule of playoff stages later.
