India vs South Africa, 2nd Test – Stats Preview

India will lock horns against South Africa in the second Test match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, from Saturday onwards. The Proteas had stunned the hosts by 30 runs in the series opener on a tricky Eden Gardens, Kolkata pitch.

The home team’s decision to play on a spicy pitch backfired and India must take their lessons that a rank turner gets the visitors into the contest. There is no doubt that India would have a better chance at winning if the curator prepares a pitch that lasts for at least four days.

Indian batters had a disappointing outing in Kolkata and they would be looking to pull up their socks.

On the other hand, South Africa would look to carry on the good show and take their confidence forward.

Indian captain Shubman Gill needs four sixes to reach 50 maximums in Test cricket. He also needs 157 runs to complete 3000 runs in the red-ball format.

Yashasvi Jaiswal needs seven sixes to reach 50 maximums in Test cricket. The left-hander needs 60 runs to complete 2500 runs in the format.

Rishabh Pant needs 44 runs to complete 3500 runs in the multi-day format. He also needs eight sixes to reach 100 maximums in the format.

South Africa’s gun fast bowler Kagiso Rabada needs 10 wickets to reach 350 scalps in Test cricket.
