Australia vs India, 2nd ODI – Stats Preview

After Australia won the opening game of the series at the Optus Stadium, Perth, convincingly by seven wickets (DLS method), India would look to stay alive in the series. The hosts were able to tick the right boxes in the first ODI, and they would want to repeat the same show.

India, on the other hand, could not deliver with the bat, and they would look to put in an improved show. All eyes were on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli but the veteran pair could not deliver the goods against Australia and they would want to be at their best. The Adelaide Oval has been a happy hunting ground for Virat Kohli and he would look to deliver the goods.

Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma needs six sixes to complete 350 maximums in ODIs. He will become the second batter after Shahid Afridi to reach the milestone. The former Pakistan batter has hit the most sixes in ODIs.

Rohit needs two runs to become the first batter to score 1000 runs in India-Australia ODIs played in Australia. He will also become the fifth player to score 1000 runs in ODIs against Australia in Australia.

Virat Kohli needs 49 runs to complete 2500 runs against Australia in ODIs.

Travis Head needs 50 runs to complete 3000 runs in ODIs.

Mitchell Starc needs five wickets to complete 250 scalps in the ODI format.
