Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has praised manager Michael Carrick for his positive impact on the team since taking over the baton. Carrick has maintained a 100% record since taking over the manager role from Ruben Amorim and has helped the team in getting positive results.
The Red Devils registered a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for the team as he found the back of the net in the 38th minute whereas Bruno Fernandes was able to put the game to bed as he scored in the 81st minute.
United are currently in fourth place in the Premier League standings with 44 points after 25 matches and have recently boosted their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
“Michael has won everything here and he knows what it means for these fans, what it means for the club to win and how much is needed to win at this football club. I think that adds something special to the team,” United captain Fernandes told TNT Sports.
The Portuguese midfielder said Carrick has done a good job in giving the players their respective responsibility.
“I think Michael came in with the right ideas of giving the players the responsibility,” Fernandes said. “He’s very good with the words.
“I think he still remembers what I told him the last time he was our manager for our last game. I was sure that Michael could be a great manager, and he’s just showing it.”
Manchester United had finished in 15th place in the previous season after they had managed only 42 points.
