Kerala Blasters FC interim head coach TG Purushothaman shared his displeasure after a 0-2 loss against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa in the ongoing Indian Super League on Saturday.
The Yellow Tuskers came up with a decent performance in the first half but could not find the back of the net. In the second half, FC Goa were the better team and deservingly bagged all three points.
Iker Guarrotxena scored right after the first half whereas Mohammad Yasir scored in the 73rd minute to give a 2-0 lead to their team.
“Yeah, the match went well for the first half. In the second half, we lost a moment early on, and that led to conceding a goal. From there, our creation was not happening in the midfield, and we lost it in the midfield, and so again we conceded a goal, and it was over,” Purushothaman stated during the post-match press conference.
The gaffer admitted that they were forced to make three changes on the pitch, which was against their initial tactics.
The coach said, “It depends on that individual’s games. We were compelled to change three players. It was against our plans and everything. It happens when you play away matches. It’s quite natural for a professional player to overcome all these things and put in a good performance.”
The Indian coach said their focus is now on the next match against Jamshedpur FC.
“We have another match on the first of next month against Jamshedpur FC, so we are planning for that. We have to come back, and we have to play for our badge, we have to play for our fans and play for our team. We have to keep up with what we are, and we have to go through all the circumstances and come out victorious. That’s it,” he concluded.
Kerala Blasters FC, who have three games remaining in the season, will next take on Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on 1st March.
