The defending champions India will take on the previous edition’s finalists, South Africa, in the Super 8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday. Both India and South Africa won all of their four games in the group stage and would want to carry the good show.
Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, and Varun Chakravarthy have been the star performers for India and they are once again going to hold the key. With Proteas having a lot of left-handers in their squad, it would be interesting to note if India would persist with Washington Sundar, who can also bowl in the Powerplay overs.
On the other hand, the Proteas would want to carry the winning impetus and would want to make the most of the familiar conditions after playing three group stage matches at Ahmedabad.
