Rajasthan Royals performance coach Siddhartha Lahiri said Shimron Hetmyer’s form is not a concern for the team amid IPL 2026. Lahiri also played down concerns regarding RR skipper Riyan Parag’s form in the tournament.
Hetmyer scored 248 runs at a strike rate of 186.47 in the T20 World Cup but he hasn’t been able to replicate the same show for RR in the ongoing tournament. Hetmyer scored 18 runs against Gujarat Titans in the last game whereas he didn’t get to bat against Chennai Super Kings after RR’s comprehensive eight-wicket win.
Meanwhile, Riyan Parag scored an unbeaten knock of 14 runs against CSK but he was dismissed for eight runs against GT.
“We don’t have any concerns about Hetmyer or Riyan’s form. We can’t get too worried about such things. We are in a good space,” Rajasthan Royals performance coach Siddhartha Lahiri said in the pre-match press conference.
“We’ve worked with them in certain areas, and I’m glad Dhruv is doing really well. Riyan is also batting well but has been a bit unlucky. It’s only been two games,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel had scored a match-winning knock of 75 runs off just 42 balls against Gujarat Titans. Thus, the wicket-keeper-bat had played a key role in helping RR post 210 runs on the board.
RR were able to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat after Jofra Archer and Tushar Deshpande successfully defended 15 runs off the last two overs against Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada.
RR will face Mumbai Indians at Guwahati on Tuesday but toss has been delayed due to rain.
