Former Indian wicket-keeper bat Saba Karim has put his weight behind Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to represent India across all three formats of the game. Sooryavanshi has thus far impressed one and all with his pyrotechnics in the white-ball format.

The youngster received his maiden T20I call-up after scoring 776 runs in 16 matches of IPL 2026 at a blistering strike rate of 237.30. Furthermore, he scored 94 runs off just 29 balls in the tri series final against Sri Lanka A.

Sooryavanshi has definitely shown the skills to go a long way in his career and he has thus far ticked all the right boxes in his young career. Karim hailed Sooryavanshi for his impressive performances against top-quality bowlers in IPL 2026.

“In my opinion, in the history of the IPL, perhaps after that season of Virat Kohli when he scored so many runs, if one season has to be defined, it is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s IPL, IPL 2026. The kind of performances he has put in against top-quality bowlers, even though in Indian conditions, have been top-notch,” Saba Karim said on JioStar.

“I have full faith in his ability to score big runs. Not only Indian fans but the entire world is waiting to see Vaibhav Sooryavanshi play in the same manner that he did in the IPL. I have high hopes for this young lad. Very soon, we will see him in all three formats. I am dead sure about it,” he continued.

Sooryavanshi has scored 207 runs in eight first-class matches for Bihar at an average of 17.25 and thus he needs more experience to excel in the red-ball game.

The second T20I between India and England will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester, on Saturday.
