Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has rated the top five performers of the T20 World Cup 2026, in which he included two Indian players, as per the ICC. England’s all-rounder Will Jacks received a perfect rating of 10 from the Australian legend.
Jacks delivered with both bat and ball for England and played an instrumental role in taking his team to the semifinal. The right-hander scored 226 runs in eight matches of the tournament at an average of 56.50 and a blistering strike rate of 176.56. Furthermore, the off-spinner scalped nine wickets in the tournament.
Ponting gave a near-perfect rating of 9.5 to Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah returned with impressive figures of 4-15 in his quota of four overs and was awarded Player of the Match after India registered a comprehensive 96-run win over the Kiwis in the final.
The gun fast bowler took 14 wickets in the tournament at an average of 12.43 and a splendid economy rate of 6.21, which was the best for any bowler.
On the other hand, Sanju Samson also came up with consistent performances. The right-hander was awarded Player of the tournament after he scored 321 runs in five matches at an average of 80.25 and a strike rate of 199.38.
Ponting gave a rating of 9 to New Zealand opener Tim Seifert. The right-hander scored 326 runs in eight innings at an average of 46.57 and a strike rate of 166.32.
The Punjab Kings head coach gave a rating of 8.5 to Pakistan’s opener Sahibzada Farhan. The right-hander top-scored in the tournament with 383 runs in six innings at an average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25.
