Former Indian spinner Murali Kartik said Virat Kohli got a taste of his own medicine after Prince Yadav dismissed him on a hard length deliver for a two-ball duck at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Thursday as RCB suffered a nine-run loss.
RCB were chasing a DLS target of 213 runs in 19 overs and Virat Kohli was the key player in the run chase. However, he was dismissed without troubling the scorers by the Delhi pacer, who has impressed one and all in the ongoing season.
Prince eventually returned with impressive figures of 3-33 in his quota of four overs and also accounted for Devdutt Padikkal and out-of-form Jitesh Sharma.
After the match Prince Yadav said while talking to the broadcasters, “After the last match I was talking to Virat bhaiya and he only told me – as long as it’s moving around off a length, stick to that length.”
“Taste of his own medicine. Prince Yadav left everyone surprised. Even Virat Kohli was left looking at himself and the pitch. I think he even asked the batter at the non-striker’s end whether it kept low or not. But there was nothing like that about the ball,” Murali Kartik said on Cricbuzz.
On the other hand, Rohan Gavaskar said Yadav will remember this ball for the rest of his career.
“You would have had fun if you were a fan of LSG or Prince Yadav. If you were a Virat Kohli fan, where is the fun? But it was a stunning delivery. Prince Yadav will remember this ball for the rest of his career,” Rohan Gavaskar said.
RCB were restricted to 203-6 as LSG registered a win after losing their last six games on the trot.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will next take on Mumbai Indians at Raipur on Sunday.
