In-form Sanju Samson is looking forward to the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, where he will start a new chapter in his career with Chennai Super Kings. Samson said Chennai Super Kings veteran MS Dhoni has always had a positive impact on him.
Samson was traded in by CSK from Rajasthan Royals in exchange for the all-rounder duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran ahead of the mini-auction.
Meanwhile, Samson returned with scores of 97(50), 89(42), and 89(46) in the virtual quarterfinals, semifinal and final of the T20 World Cup, respectively. The right-hander was awarded Player of the tournament after he scored 321 runs in five matches at an average of 80.25 and a strike rate of 199.38.
“I’ve spoken to Mahi bhai a lot and have seen him on and off in the Indian team, but this will be the first time we’ll spend two months together, so there’s a lot of excitement,” Samson told PTI.
“Whenever he calls or speaks to me, there’s always a positive influence. But being with him in the same team for two months will definitely have its benefits, and just thinking about it makes me happy. Watching and learning from the way he approaches the game is something I see as a great opportunity,” Samson added.
Samson will be next seen in action while playing for CSK in IPL 2026 and he will look to carry his rich form.
