The reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on Mumbai Indians at Raipur in the 54th match of the ongoing IPL 2026 on Sunday. While RCB lost their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians were able to get a much-needed win in their last game against LSG.
Mumbai Indians need to win all of their remaining matches to stay afloat in the playoff race and there are no two ways about it. Hardik Pandya had missed the previous game due to illness and it would be intersting to note if he returns to the playing XI.
Rohit Sharma’s return was a big boost for the five-time champions and the veteran MI batter was able to hit the ground running on his comeback against LSG. The MI opener scored a match-winning knock of 84 runs off 44 balls whereas Ryan Rickelton had continued his purple patch, scoring 83 runs off 32 balls.
On the other hand, RCB conceded 209 in 19 overs against LSG and would want to come back stronger with both bat and ball. The form of Jacob Bethell and Jitesh Sharma is a concern for the defending champions and they are certainly missing the services of Phil Salt at the top of the order.
Josh Hazlewood had an expensive outing against LSG and the Australian would look to bounce back strongly.
