India have announced a full-strength squad for the Afghanistan T20Is on Tuesday. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel have made eight changes to the squad from the Zimbabwe tour. Rinku Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Harsh Dubey, Prabhsimran Singh, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Mayank Yadav and Ashok Sharma, who were all part of the Zimbabwe tour, have been left out.
Sanju Samson, who could not find a place in the T20I squad for Zimbabwe series, has been included in the squad. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana have been selected but their selection is subject to fitness clearance.
Meanwhile, Suryansh Shedge, Prince Yadav and Prasidh Krishna, who were part of the England tour, have not been included for the upcoming series. Apart from Bumrah and Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy have been included in the squad.
Axar Patel has retained his place in the squad despite a poor run of form on the UK tour. There were reports that Krunal Pandya was in contention to make his return to the team. Hardik Pandya, who has suffered a fresh injury, hasn’t been included in the squad and continues to miss International action.
All three matches are set to be hosted in New Delhi, scheduled for September 13, 15 and 17.
