India will take on England in the first T20I at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street on Wednesday. The new T20I era under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy hasn’t got off to an ideal start as India suffered a 0-2 loss against Ireland.
The Men in Blue were not up to the mark against the Irish team and there is no doubt that they failed to adjust to the conditions. The English conditions, however, are expected to be more batting friendly and thus the Indian batters will surely be more comfortable.
Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer said in the pre-match press conference that they will continue to back the same set of players and thus Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will need to wait for his debut.
India was not able to tick the right boxes in three departments of the game against Ireland and they would need to pull up their socks as a unit.
Varun Chakravarthy has recovered from his injury and his presence is a huge boost for the team. India is certainly missing a quality seam bowler on the UK tour and Suryansh Shedge and Shivam Dube will look to deliver for the visitors.
On the other hand, England has a quality T20I team and they would be confident of delivering while playing in their own conditions.
