India will send a 20-member badminton contingent to the 2026 Asian Games, with P.V. Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and the men’s doubles combination of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty among the leading names in the squad.

The 20th edition of the Asian Games is set to begin on September 19 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. India will have a total travelling contingent of 492 athletes, including 20 badminton players competing across individual, doubles and team events.

India will enter the badminton competition looking to build on its three-medal performance at the previous Asian Games in 2023.

Satwiksairaj and Chirag created history at that edition by winning India’s first Asian Games badminton gold medal. The men’s team also secured silver, while H.S. Prannoy claimed bronze in the men’s singles competition.

Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty will represent India in men’s singles in 2026, with both also included in the men’s team. Satwiksairaj and Chirag will form the first men’s doubles pair, while M.R. Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan make up the second combination.

Prannoy, Kidambri Srikanth and Tharun Mannepalli are also part of the men’s team, while Dhruv Kapila will feature in mixed doubles as well as the team competition.

Two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu will lead India’s challenge in women’s singles alongside Unnati Hooda. Both have also been selected for the women’s team.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will form India’s first women’s doubles pair, while Kavipriya Selvam and Simran Singhi will compete as the second combination.

Tanisha Crasto has been selected for mixed doubles and the women’s team. Tanvi Sharma, Devika Sihag and Isharani Baruah complete the women’s team lineup.

With experienced campaigners and younger players included across the squad, India will compete in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, mixed doubles and both team competitions when the continental event gets underway in Japan.
